Dr. William Ko is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine practicing for over 12 years in Orange County. Dr. Ko completed medical school at University of Southern California before finishing his anesthesiology residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and his pain medicine fellowship at UCLA Medical Center. His areas of interest include chronic musculoskeletal pain, spine pain, neuropathic pain, interventional pain management, spinal cord stimulation, and intrathecal pumps. Dr. Ko is not my primary care doctor. He is a Pain Management Specialist. I get a high-risk procedure every three months. I trust Dr Ko with dangerous procedure. I have been seeing Dr Ko since 2011 for this health issue.

Dr Ko has a difficult job as people in pain could be exhausting. They need a minute of compassion and encouragement. Dr Ko saw me over year ago and calmly shared that if my pain was nerve damage, it can take months to year to resolve. I am pain free today. I am thrilled!

Dr Ko is a genius! Metaphorically. Maybe also literally, I don't know. His treatment allows me to function. Without his treatment and effort, I would almost be chairbound due to back pain. The difficulty with speed of treatment is almost 100% due to my insurance denying the RFA. Dr Ko deserves as much credit for the time and effort he puts in to convincing my Insurance company to approve the treatment as he does for performing the ablations.

I visit Dr. Ko every three months to have a risky procedure performed -a C7/T1 Epidural Injection. This injection reliefs pain in my spine. Fluoroscopy is necessary. Mid-way through each three months I have a video visit with Dr. Ko to ensure I am fine. Appointments are made during this time. I have had this procedure performed successfully since 2013. Dr. Ko is a great Doctor, and I trust him thoroughly.

I have had 3 appointments in the last 12 months with this provider for an injection in my spine. The first 2 times he was running behind a good 45 minutes. So for this last appointment I scheduled to be his FIRST appointment. I waited over an HOUR for him to arrive. Why? There were not patients before me so no reason to keep me waiting this long, especially with no explanation. No apologies or anything. My time is just as valuable as his and he needs to learn better time management skills.
