About Steven M. Meltzer
Dr. Meltzer, founder of Beach Allergy, is a native New Yorker turned Californian. A USC medical school graduate, he completed his Pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital of L.A. and a fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Kaiser Foundation Hospital where his research earned him the AAAAI Young Investigator Award. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor at UC Irvine involved in the teaching of medical residents. He has served as the Director of Pediatric Allergy at Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach. Community activities include service as AAFA asthma camp director for which he was named Physician of the Year in 1993. He is a Past President of the California Society of Allergy and Immunology. He has participated in numerous clinical drug trials and has published several articles for major journals. With an MBA in Marketing from CSULB, Dr. Meltzer focuses on innovative allergy and asthma care education such as the Starbright Asthma CD-ROM game. He lives with his family in Seal Beach, enjoying sports, comedy, and travel. He is a proud supporter of local school charities as well as the Evelyn Meltzer Endowment at Keck USC School of Medicine providing scholarships to students from single parent families.
