Anna Newsom
Anna Newsom is executive vice president and chief legal officer for Providence. She is responsible for the delivery of legal services for the system, and serves as secretary to the Providence Board of Trustees.
Prior to joining Providence, Anna served in several leadership roles at The Travelers Companies. These included group general counsel for the staff counsel organization, vice president for claim in the strategic resolutions group, and head of large loss for the enterprise major case unit and international claim. Earlier in her career she was a partner at Mendes & Mount, LLP, a New York law firm specializing in international insurance and reinsurance law. She also served as an assistant district attorney in the Bronx District Attorney’s Office.
Educated in the Jesuit tradition, Anna received her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from Fordham University.
