Positive Perspectives: Creating Hope for Cancer Patients

Providence Cancer Center is pleased to welcome C. Vivian Stringer, acclaimed head coach of Rutgers' Scarlet Knights women's basketball team, as the keynote speaker for our 11th annual luncheon. She will discuss surviving her cancer and making the most of each moment in this life.

2008 Providence Festival of Trees

The Gala Dinner and Auction on Dec. 4 sold out with more than 800 guests in attendance. Foundation supporters raised more than $790,000, which includes $470,000 for the special appeal. The special appeal will purchase a new cell sorter for the researchers at Providence Cancer Center and the Oregon Medical Laser Center located at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. The public show was visited by over 13,000 people.

10th annual cancer luncheon
reaches new records
10th annual cancer luncheon

Scott Hamilton, Olympic gold medal figure skater, role model, humanitarian and cancer survivor, was the keynote speaker for the Positive Perspectives: Creating Hope for Cancer Patients fund-raising luncheon on May 8, 2008. Attendees at the luncheon raised more than $400,000 to support ongoing research efforts at the Robert W. Franz Cancer Research Center in the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute.
