Message from Leadership
We all recognize that the Providence mission and core values form the cornerstone from which we draw our workday inspiration. Flowing from our mission and values is our Code of Conduct (formerly known as the Providence Integrity Guidelines), which is a more literal and prescribed set of standards that governs our workplace behavior.
The Code of Conduct is the overarching framework that helps us make sound decisions and act with integrity at all times. The individual standards will sound familiar to you. Among them: upholding and respecting patient rights and confidentiality; maintaining accurate records; avoiding conflicts of interest with vendors and contractors, and complying fully with laws and regulations specific to our work.
The Code of Conduct is integral to our role as a Catholic health care ministry and our deep commitment to integrity. It is important that all employees and others associated with Providence clearly understand these expectations and are able to receive a thorough explanation if they have questions regarding any workplace behaviors or experiences. That is why we have established a 24-hour-a day Providence Integrity Line (1-888-294-8455) that employees can call toll free with questions or concerns about integrity-related issues. Calls are taken by an independent third-party company so that employees can speak anonymously and confidentially.
My thanks to all the individuals systemwide who are part of our System Integrity Program. In this era of increasingly complex ethical, professional, and legal requirements, our System Integrity colleagues help all of us as people of Providence to meet our ongoing commitment to integrity.
