To locate a chaplain while at one of our hospitals, look for the Pastoral Services Office or call the hospital operator and ask for a chaplain. Regular office hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
When Should I See a Chaplain?
You are welcome to speak to a chaplain at any time. People often seek pastoral support when confronting any of these life situations:
Grief
If you are experiencing loss or grief, whether this involves the death of a loved one, loss of health, job or other significant or recent loss.
Life Changes
If you are in the midst of an emotional struggle, such as a changing relationship, separation, divorce or other life adjustment; if you may also be having difficulty caring for yourself, a child or another family member.
Medical Diagnosis
If you are dealing with a new or life-changing health diagnosis, chronic illness or are anxious about an upcoming surgery or other medical treatment.
Ethics of Life Issues
If you are faced with ethical decisions related to medical treatment for yourself or a loved one, if you seek insight into how your beliefs affect your medical care, or if you need help with issues related to Power of Attorney for Health Care or Advance Directives. We will also offer prayer if you request spiritual support.
Community Support
If you wish to connect with other spiritual support or faith groups within your community, we will refer you to local churches or parish visitors.
