Because many individuals benefit from sharing their experiences with other people who are dealing with similar issues, Providence Health & Services has established several ongoing group support programs. Locations, schedules, and classes may vary, so call your nearest hospital or the Health Resource Center for current information. Here is a list of some of the groups currently meeting:
Journey Through Grief
A series of six classes related to grief and recovery are offered throughout the year. Classes are designed to offer an understanding of the grief process. Sessions also offer participants a chance to question, explore and share experiences that will lead to their growth, recovery and healing.
Breast Cancer Education & Support Group
A group for support and sharing. Also a forum for sharing information about topics related to the diagnosis, treatment and management of breast cancer.
Home and Community Services
Pastoral/spiritual care is also provided to patients and families by Providence Home and Community Services & Hospice.
Spiritual Support Group for Oncology Patients
A support group that reflects on the meaning of life and values at a time of personal crisis. Patients and their support persons are welcome to join together in prayer, meditation and guided imagery.
Individual Support
Because spiritual questions are often so personal, Providence chaplains are always available to provide individualized support.
