Providence St. Vincent Medical Center: Medicine Residency

Message from the Director

Whether your career goal is primary care, hospital medicine, or a subspecialty, you will have an excellent residency experience at Providence St. Vincent. Our core objective is to blend the academic engagement of a university hospital with our emphasis on education and patient care. You will encounter a broad spectrum of diseases in a diverse population of patients, and learn with a dedicated faculty committed to keeping the focus on your education.

We strive for an environment of inquiry, developing in our residents the skills necessary for lifelong, self-directed learning. Ours is a highly collegial program, stressing the foundations of rational clinical judgment, evidence-based decision making, professionalism, mentorship, and an abiding commitment to one’s patients. Our goal is simple: to provide you with the best possible clinical training in a nurturing environment conducive to learning.

Spend some time reviewing the Web site to learn how residency at PSVMC brings together the best aspects of a university hospital with the state of the art facilities and teaching commitment of a Top 100 community hospital. If you have further questions about our program, please feel free to contact us.
