Providence St. Vincent Medical Center Hospitalist Program
Providence St.Vincent Medical Center is a 523-bed tertiary care facility on the west side of the Portland metropolitan area. It is one of the country’s 100 Top Hospitals and was the first hospital in Oregon to receive Magnet Recognition for Excellence in Nursing Service. The hospital is home to a premier cardiac care and research program, a world-class biomedical laser research facility, and Oregon’s first nationally certified stroke center.
The Providence St. Vincent hospitalist program is the most complex and innovative of our five programs. In addition to a traditional adult-medicine service, this program provides a pediatrics service and is piloting programs in skilled nursing facility care and in peri-operative co-management. Daily hospitalist staffing includes six day-shift adult-care physicians, one day-shift medical/pediatric physician, one swing-shift physician, a night-shift nocturnist and a night-shift pediatrician.
As an important part of the Providence St. Vincent Internal Medicine Residency Program, our hospitalists enjoy many opportunities for teaching.
