Pankaj Gore, M.D., has joined Microneurosurgical Consultants, P.C., which is based at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Providence Portland Medical Center. Dr. Gore specializes in skull-based surgery, cerebrovascular neurosurgery, minimally invasive neurosurgery and complex spine surgery. He also will participate in the development of intraoperative MRI services. In early 2009, Providence St. Vincent will be the first medical center on the west coast to house an iMRI, a one-of-a- kind movable MRI that allows surgeons to safely image patients during brain surgery.
Along with Daniel Rohrer, M.D., Dr. Gore will serve as a medical director of Providence Cranial Services with a focus on skull-based and minimally invasive neurosurgery. Dr. Gore completed a fellowship in minimally invasive neurosurgery in Sydney, Australia, and his residency at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Ariz. Providence Medical Group Columbia, which is based at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, has hired Jeffrey Penikas, M.D. Dr. Penikas worked as an obstetrician-gynecologist in Albuquerque, N.M. for 10 years prior to joining PMG Columbia. Dr. Penikas received his medial degree at the University of Rochester, where he completed his internship and residency. Dr. Penikas says he enjoys the broad spectrum of work he does – from ushering new lives into the world to working with perimenopause and menopause patients.
