Providence Clinics Add Dermatologist and Internal Medicine Physicians

PORTLAND, Ore. — Providence Medical Group has added three internal medicine physicians and a dermatologist to area clinics. All are currently accepting new patients.
Chester North, M.D., Ph.D., is an internal medicine physician at Providence Medical Group – The Plaza. He believes his most important role as a physician is to listen to his patients and be a partner in their health care. “Care is a partnership between the patient and the physician. The physician advises and educates; the patient decides,” he says. He emphasizes patient education and wants his patients to take an active role in their health care.
Dr. North received his Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University and his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He completed his residency and a fellowship in internal medicine as well as a residency in anesthesiology at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.

Stephanie Mengden, M.D., is a dermatologist at Providence Dermatologic Specialties. She decided to become a doctor to help people live healthy lives. “It is an honor to take care of someone when they are sick and in need of help,” she says.
After earning her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Dr. Mengden completed an internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas. She completed her residency at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz., and a fellowship at New York University School of Medicine in New York City. She is board certified in dermatology and dermatopathology.

Lee Walters, M.D., and Khoi Ha Le, M.D., are internal medicine physicians at Providence Medical Group – Glisan.
Lee Walters, M.D., emphasizes preventive care in his medical practice. “Preventing diseases is an ideal way to maintain good health; there are always beneficial preventive measures available to maintain and improve health,” he says.
Dr. Walters received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and was a resident in internal medicine at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He was a fellow in metabolism at New York Hospital of Cornell University and National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow at The Rockefeller University in New York City.
Khoi Ha Le, M.D., wants his patients to feel well cared for. ”I understand what a patient goes through when he or she is ill,” he says. “That’s why I take care of my patients the way I want to be taken care of when I don’t feel well.”
Dr. Le, who is fluent in Vietnamese, received his medical degree from the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He completed his internship and residency at Legacy Emanuel and Good Samaritan Hospitals in Portland.
