Providence Hospital Foundation Event Postponed One Week
November 2, 2007
A veritable forest of festive Christmas trees will surround attendees at the tenth annual Providence Seaside Hospital Foundation St. Nicholas Festival of Trees gala and auction. Honoring the founders of this spectacular event, Nancy Daggatt and Celine McEwan, will be Master of Ceremonies KATU-TV’s meteorologist Rod Hill.
The majority of money raised from this evening will benefit Providence Seaside Hospital Foundation’s commitment to provide digital mammography for Providence Seaside Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging department. In addition, a portion of the evening’s proceeds will be allocated to the Providence Community Care fund, which provides free medical and dental services for low-income persons in our community.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday night, December 8, 2007 at the Seaside Convention Center. Advance reservations are required. Please e-mail or phone with reservation information (name, address, phone number, and method of payment) as the guest capacity is limited to four hundred, and has been sold out early for the last several years. Tables seat ten people, and admission is $100 per person ($50 tax deductible). Please phone 503-717-7600 or e-mail pshfoundation@providence.org for more information.
Be sure to bring your Christmas list, auction items include a vacation trip for a week in County Kerry, Ireland; a gourmet dinner for ten at the home of Mike and Celine McEwan; a landscaper’s dream from Dennis 7 Dees Garden and Gift Center; a trip to nearly anywhere on the planet; and a tree covered in handmade beaded jewelry.
The event’s signature art for this year is an original watercolor by Gearhart artist Carol Riley. Ms. Riley has donated "Winter Bird" to be sold at auction during the auction that evening.
Other highlights for the evening include:
• Elegant hors d’oeuvres and wine
• Music performed by the Tom Grant Band featuring Ron Steen and Dave Captein
• Live Auction, Silent Auction, and Super Silent Auction
In addition to the Saturday evening gala, there will be a free Open House on Saturday afternoon, hosted by the Providence Seaside Hospital Auxiliary. This is an opportunity to stroll amongst the beautifully decorated trees and visit the “Under The Christmas Tree” gift shop, open between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Santa will be there for photo opportunities for a small fee.
Special sponsorship opportunities are available as well - contact Leslie at 503-717-7601 if you or your business might be interested.
