Mark your calendar for Saturday, Dec. 9, and join Providence Seaside Hospital for an unforgettable ninth annual St. Nicholas Festival of Trees. The extremely talented singer, songwriter and pianist Tom Grant headlines this year’s gala event. Grant will open the evening with a musical greeting and close it with an intimate concert after the final tree is auctioned off.
One of Oregon’s most renowned and beloved musical artists, Grant has toured and recorded with such jazz greats as JimPepper, Woody Shaw and Joe Hendersonin a career that has spanned 35 years. His recordings have repeatedly topped the New Adult Contemporary and Smooth Jazz charts. In 1997, he was honored as a Steinway Artist. “We are so pleased that Tom will be performing at our gala,” says Leslie Shepherd, executive director of the Providence Seaside Foundation. “He is a magnificent talent, and we are proud that he is an Oregon native.”
Last year, the Festival of Trees netted more than $63,000 in support of vital hospital programs. This year’s Festival proceeds will support the hospital’s Surgery Department expansion, Providence Community Care and other programs and equipment needs.
If you can’t make it to the auction, please stop by our free Open House to see the beautifully decorated trees. The Hospital Auxiliary hosts the Open House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the gala auction. |
