Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
When an infant is born prematurely or with complications, our team of neonatologists, neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists, laboratory technologists, pharmacists, social workers and counselors provide life-saving care in the state-of-the-art NICU at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Each year, we care for hundreds of high-risk babies in our renowned NICU, with the best outcomes in the area.
Special Care Nursery
This nursery at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center provides extra care for sick or premature newborns who need specialized treatment, yet do not require intervention of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Special Care Nursery allows these newborns who were born at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center to stay at the hospital, close to their parents, rather than be transported to another facility.
