Building for the Future of Our Community
If you are one of more than two million people living in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys, you may already be aware of the demand on your local hospitals.  The population of the San Fernando Valley is expected to increase by five percent and of the Santa Clarita Valley by 13 percent, in the next five years.

While the population continues to expand, the number of hospital beds and emergency rooms has decreased.  Since 1995, hospital closures in the San Fernando Valley reduced the total number of patient care beds by more than 800.

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center Will Expand to Serve the Needs of  People in Northern Los Angeles County

Our next expansion will make Holy Cross the second largest acute care hospital in the San Fernando Valley.  We will build a new four-story patient care tower with 101 patient beds, and the capacity to add an additional 35 beds in the future.  It will include:

  • A new Women’s Pavilion featuring 10 Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Post Partum (LDRP) suites and a wellborn nursery
  • A 12-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to care for premature and high-risk babies
  • A larger Gastroenterology Lab for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for digestive disorders
  • New pre-and post-operative surgery department
  • Additional I.C.U. beds
  • 50 private patient rooms on two floors
  • 10 semi-private rooms to accommodate emergency patients who require overnight observation
  • A 100-seat chapel featuring sacred space for liturgies and private prayer, a meditative garden with a waterfall reflecting the world’s great religions
  • Remodeled entrance, lobby, admitting area and cafeteria

For information on how you or your company might contribute to this expansion, please contact Providence Holy Cross Foundation at 818-898-4600, or 661-288-5990.
