O'Christmas Trees 2009 Signature Cocktail Contest

 

Highlights from the 2009 Cocktail Contest

Oliver's Lounge at Mayflower Park Hotel & SkyCity at the Needle win!

SEATTLE (Sept. 17, 2009) – Two hundred people, seven great cocktails, a 360º view 100 feet above the ground and great food all mixed together to make this year's cocktail contest a huge success. Oliver’s Lounge at Mayflower  Park Hotel mixologist Craig DeBolt rang bells and took top honors for “Best in Show” cocktail with his “Silver Belle” martini. Having done so this winning creation will be served at our 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner & Auction on December 2, 2009 as our Signature Drink.

Dan Minjares, SkyCity at the Needle mixologist’s creation of Santa’s Rocket Fuel propelled him into winning the title for Most Congenial Bartender. The competition was fierce; Jeshua Madden of Sazerac, Palani Stewart of The Nabob, Duncan Chase of TASTE Restaurant @ SAM, Drew Braithwaite of Feedback Lounge and Travis Scott of The Traveler received honorable mentions for their drinks with names like Sugar & Spice, Under the Down Comforter, TASTE Of Christmas, Deep Red Bells, and Joyeux Noël.

This year’s event, sponsored by Grey Goose was held at the Space Needle, who provided us with a spectacular spread of nibbles. Blue Danube Productions and Choice Linens gave us great decorations while Team Photogenic and Seattle Magazine provided media coverage. Providence Senior and Community Services and Providence O’Christmas Trees would like to thank our event chairs, Andrew and Becky Pritchard, all of our sponsors and our mixologist participants for making this event spectacular.

"Silver Belle" Recipe:

2 oz Grey Goose Vodka
1 oz St-Germaine
¼ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1 oz Champagne

Pour over ice in mixing glass, shake & strain into chilled martini glass then top with champagne
