Volunteer Programs

Faith in Action Program Marianwood's Volunteer Program Auxiliary Volunteering at Marianwood - As a nonprofit organization, Providence Marianwood relies on volunteers to help provide important services to our patients and residents.

Below are our ongoing volunteer openings:

• Individual    - 1:1 visiting with an individual resident.
• Nurturing  - 1:1 visiting with a number of residents on a specific unit.
• Group Assistant  - Assisting residents during activity groups such as creative arts, bingo, cooking and entertainment.
• Dining Room Assistant  - Assisting residents/patients during meals.
• Clerical  - Clerical work as needed by different departments.
• Leisure Cart  - Assisting short term stay patients by operating a recreation cart and offering leisure materials.
• Pastoral Care  - Spiritual supportive visits. Potential volunteers are required to have a letter from their faith tradition's spiritual leader.
• Providence Marianwood Auxiliary - Members participate in a variety of service projects, both within the facility and outside of the facility. Membership information is available upon request.

Training and staff supervision provided for all volunteer positions.
Groups wishing to volunteer for one-time or seasonal projects, are welcome. There are age minimums for the various positions. Auxiliary
The purpose of Providence Marianwood Auxiliary is simple and important. Auxiliary volunteers strive to augment resident and patient comfort and care through volunteer service. Whether distributing welcome baskets to new patients or hosting memorial services, Auxiliary volunteers add extra warmth, cheer and comfort to the exceptional care provided by Providence Marianwood staff.

The Auxiliary meets once a month at Providence Marianwood. There are opportunities to join special committees and get involved in many ways. Auxiliary luncheons are held twice a year at Marianwood.

Joining is simple. Call Cindy Sharek at (425) 391-2895 to get more information or to join the Auxiliary. The membership dues are $5.00 per year or $50.00 for a lifetime membership.
