Hospice Volunteer Training
Interested applicants must submit a volunteer application and participate in an orientation interview prior to acceptance into the volunteer training program. Volunteer Core Training Core training is a four-hour training that provides an overview of hospice and volunteer opportunities. It prepares volunteers to attend training for patient care, bereavement, Camp Erin, and other volunteer programs, as well as to provide office support at Providence Hospice of Seattle. Core trainings are held on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Providence Hospice of Seattle office. You must submit an application and participate in an orientation interview before attending this training. Upcoming 2009 Core training dates: August 11, September 15, October 27, December 1 Patient Care Volunteer Training Patient Care Volunteer training is a two-day (9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.) training designed to prepare volunteers to work directly with hospice patients and families. Volunteers must attend Core training prior to attending Patient Care Volunteer training.
