About Providence Hospice of Seattle Children’s Services
Children who are ill or grieving need special care and services. Providence Hospice of Seattle is committed to helping you get the care and support you need for your child ~ but it does not stop there. We are committed to caring for families as well. And we have two unique programs to do just that.

Stepping Stones
In 1994, we launched our pediatric palliative care and hospice program, Stepping Stones. Our dedicated pediatric care teams are specially trained in children’s issues. They offer physical, emotional and spiritual care and support for children and their families living with a life-limiting illness. We provide services throughout King County, including Vashon Island. They include in-home care for terminally ill children, palliative services in the hospital or at home, and a special perinatal program.

Safe Crossings
In 1991 Providence Hospice of Seattle launched the Safe Crossings program to help children prepare for the death of someone they love and to offer ongoing support after the death occurs. The goal of Safe Crossings is to help children experience the process of grieving in a healthy way so that they may eventually regain their natural sense of joy.
