- Personal and video instruction while you're in the Birth Center on: breastfeeding, sibling rivalry, basic baby and mother care, what to expect at home and your partner's part in birthing and with the baby at home.

We Encourage
- You to include the support people of your choice to help make your baby's arrival a very special delivery
- Fathers to stay with mothers and babies as much as possible during your time in the Family Birth Center
- Your family including other children and grandparents to visit during visiting hours.

2009 Enhancements planned with current hospital expansion
- Expansion of the Family Birth Center will increase support, care and comfort for mothers,delivery and infants and will enhance accommodations for families and visitors
- Dedicated C-section suite (surgical facilities within the Family Birth Center)
- Significant increased square footage of the postpartum rooms
- Four labor/deliver/recovery rooms (increase of one)
- Four private postpartum rooms
- Floor plan designed for quiet patient rooms
- All rooms offer private occupancy
- Tubs in each labor room
- Expanded nursery
- Two triage/exam rooms for obstetrical patients
- Dedicated family space and waiting room
- Kitchenettes, refrigerators, custom cabinets and decor upgrades
- Private Family Birth Center waiting room
- Enhanced level of infant/family security (locked unit)
