Providence Health Plans System Requirements

To use the features that allow you to view your claims, benefit summary, member handbook and specific participating plan providers, we recommend that you use a supported browser.

PC Supported Browsers

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5, 6.x
• Mozilla FireFox - latest version recommended

Mac OS Supported Browsers

• Mac 9.x - Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x recommended
• Mac 10.x - Mozilla FireFox - latest version recommended

Supported browsers

• Firefox 2 or higher on Windows XP, Windows Vista or Mac OS X
• Internet Explorer 6 or higher on Windows XP or Vista
• Safari 1.3, 2.0 or higher on Mac OS X
• Browsers for Linux and Mac OS 9 are not directly supported

Browser requirements

We recognize that there are many choices of Web browsers available to users and that choice is a personal matter. If you prefer using a browser not on the list above, please note that it should meet or exceed the following list of requirements. Though your browser may meet these requirements, we cannot guarantee a problem-free experience nor can we provide you with any direct technical support.

• Browser must support 128-bit encryption or better to protect your sensitive information.
• Browser must support ECMAScript (Standardized JavaScript).
• Browser should support W3C specifications for DOM Level 1, all or most of CSS 2.1, and XHTML 1.0 Transitional markup. This includes browsers based on the following rendering engines:
  • Gecko (e.g.: Firefox 2)
  • iCab 3+
  • Presto (e.g.: Opera 9+)
  • WebKit (e.g.: Safari 2.0)
• Browser should not be on a blacklist (for security concerns) or discontinued browser list. Some examples:
  • Internet Explorer below version 6 on any platform
  • Netscape below version 7 on any platform
  • Mozilla Suite
  • Firefox 1.0.x
• Browser should be latest official release by manufacturer or developer for your system. Beta versions of browsers should not be used.
