Q. I did not find an answer and need additional help.
A. Have you checked our other FAQs? If you still need help, please contact Customer Service.
Q. Why do you publish information about medical services that are not consistent with Catholic teaching?
A. We are glad you asked that! In our effort to be faithful to the Catholic faith tradition of Providence, we cannot readily provide information about medical services not consistent with our moral tradition. At the same time, we believe — as studies have suggested — that giving people easy access to reliable health information on the Internet makes for better informed and healthier patients. Unfortunately, we cannot create a comprehensive Web health library ourselves, and so we partner with a select group of organizations to provide you with trustworthy medical information through our Web site. When choosing these partners, we carefully consider whether their commitment to healthcare is consistent with the Church’s Social Teachings, and if we are able to adapt access to content provided to our readers so that it more fully reflects our faith tradition. It is not yet a perfect system. Our goal is to help you manage your health while staying true to our Mission and Core Values, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we continually refine our efforts to do that.
If you have additional comments or questions about what you find on our site, we invite you to send them to us.
