Providence Bridge Pedal and Stride
30 Years Young
Since 1996, Providence Bridge Pedal has been celebrating Portland and the Willamette River bridges.
On Sunday morning, Aug. 9th, join your family, friends, and neighbors for this signature event on Portland’s summer calendar. Providence Bridge Pedal is unique—it’s the one opportunity each year to bike or walk across the Willamette River bridges, including the care-free upper decks of both the Fremont and Marquam Bridges.
The beloved traditions that have grown over the past three decades are all back:
- The Fremont Express includes a sunrise breakfast on the Fremont Bridge and a thrilling ride through downtown Portland on I-405 to the Marquam Bridge.
- Ride options for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.
- A five-mile walk that includes crossing the Fremont Bridge.
- Kids Pedal, a free ride for the youngest bikers, which starts and finishes with all the other events in downtown Portland.
- The 6-Bridge Challenge rewards younger riders who achieve the goal of biking over six of Portland’s Willamette River bridges.
- Entertainment, including Takohachi drummers on the Fremont Bridge and Boko Marimba on the Marquam Bridge.
- And much more.
