Kenai Satelite Base

LifeGuard Alaska has opened a new base in Soldotna that has allowed faster response time to Kenai residents. LifeGuard has positioned an A-star helicopter at Central Penninsula Hospital in order to provide 24 hour coverage 365 days a year.

Helicopter (AS350 B2)

For medical evacuations within 150 to 200 miles of the Providence Alaska Medical Center, LifeGuard uses a specially equipped AS350 helicopter. This aircraft is powered by a single turbine engine delivering a cruising speed of 120 knots (138 mph) and providing a non-stop range of 350 miles. It is non-pressurized and certified to 20,000 feet. Landing requirements dictate a surface approximately 75 feet square. The crew includes the pilot and two medical crew. It has a capacity of one stretcher. The AS350 is station at Central Penninsula Hospital in Soldotna.
