LifeGuard Alaska will provide rapid medical transport in a safe environment with a high level of skilled, quality care. We will work in collaboration with all healthcare providers to promote health and wellness for all individuals. All patients, acutely ill or injured, are accepted from authorized personnel without discrimination or regard to financial position. The philosophy and operation of LifeGuard is based upon the overall mission of the Providence Health System and the knowledge that each person is cared for as an individual.
Overview
When you are ill or injured, travel can be difficult, or at times, seem impossible. LifeGuard Alaska makes it possible for patients to get medical care at the facility of their choice.
LifeGuard Team
The flight team may include registered nurses, paramedics, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, or physicians with expertise in trauma, emergency care, neurology, pediatrics, neonatal care, maternal or other specialties, depending on the patient's needs.
Aircraft
The composition of the LifeGuard fleet is designed to meet Alaska's unique demands. Aircraft include a Lear Jet 35, a King Air 200 twin-engine turbo prop and an AS350 A-Star B2 helicopter.
How to Request LifeGuard Services
LifeGuard communication Specialists are key to rapid response. The Communications Center receives flight requests, links referring personnel with the LifeGuard physician, and activates the appropriate team members.
Medical Air Transport
The emergency communications specialists follow specific protocols on when to send the emergency medical helicopter.
