Providence St. Peter Hospital opened its new emergency center on June 10, 2003. The 25,000-square-foot center is three times larger than the previous building and has the most modern technology and equipment.

Some of the features:

  • 39 private patient treatment rooms
  • 6 cardiac and stroke rooms
  • 2 trauma rooms
  • 4 women's health rooms
  • 3 private triage/registration rooms
  • 2 cast rooms
  • 2 EENT (eye, ear, nose, throat) rooms
  • Crisis services (mental health) unit
  • Rooftop helipad

The clinical laboratory opened June 1, 2003. This 16,000-square-foot facility provides cytology, hematology, chemistry, toxicology, microbiology, pathology and blood bank services. A new lab information system and instruments that analyze blood will generate faster patient lab results.
