8th Annual Spring Celebration Luncheon to Raise Funds for Providence Marianwood Foundation
John Curley from KING-TV’s Evening Magazine will be the keynote speaker at the Providence Marianwood 8th Annual Spring Celebration Luncheon on Thursday, May 8, 2008. The theme of this year’s event is “Grace Among Us.”
The Emmy award winning Curley will tell the story of how his life changed forever one morning on a bridge in Philadelphia. He’ll disclose how one word shouted by a stranger gave him the power to see life in a whole new way.
The luncheon, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Club, 36005 SE Ridge St., in Snoqualmie, is the premier fundraiser for the Providence Marianwood Foundation and residents of the Issaquah non-profit skilled nursing home.
At the luncheon, Issaquah residents Brenda and Brian Shea will be honored with the “Spirit of Marianwood Award.” The Sheas have given countless hours to Providence Marianwood over many years. Mrs. Shea most recently served as President of the Faith in Action Advisory Board. She was also involved with strategic planning and spearheaded a major fundraising event in 2007. At the same time, Mr. Shea served as President of the Providence Marianwood Board of Directors, and previously served the board in many capacities. Devoted to their family and church and selflessly dedicated to Providence Marianwood, the Sheas set an example for us all.
The Spirit of Marianwood Award is presented annually to the person or group who best exemplifies the mission at Providence Marianwood.
KING-5 television news anchor Lori Matsukawa will emcee this year’s luncheon.
Reservations are being taken for this event by calling 425-391-2895. There is no “charge” to attend, but a minimum tax-deductible donation of $125 per person is suggested at the event. Luncheon proceeds will support the programs and services at Providence Marianwood.
